Juan Gil Silver Label Organic Monastrell, the Gil Family Flagship wine, is sourced from estate Monastrell vineyards aged an average of 52 years. After the grapes are hand-harvested, an optical sorting machine is used to select the best berries. Maceration and fermentation in stainless steel tanks before being transferred to French oak barrels for malolactic fermentation and 12 months aging. Ripe dark berries and cherries, floral notes, and a touch of smoke. Rich with silky tannins on the mid-palate and a long, spicy finish with lingering juicy fruit.
Perfect to pair with game meat or creamy rice, stewed vegetables, mushrooms, game and poultry, casserole, fish and seafood, smoked, blue and cured cheeses, grilled and/or barbecued white and red meat, roast lamb, pork or beef.
